WAV//FORM - Senior Thesis 2025
In efforts to turn sound into motion, I have designed an Immersive Live Audio-Reactive Visual System. In collaboration with Enraile, a local DJ in the Los Angeles electronic scene.
WAV//FORM is a flexible visual system that could adapt to different artists, venues, visuals, and performances. Rather than designing fixed visuals for a single show, WAV//FORM incorporates live MIDI mixing through Ableton that connects to Touchdesigner's reactive visuals. Creating engaging experiences for the audience and reducing technical difficulties for the artist.
WAV//FORM is a system that takes Ableton data into a keyboard MIDI in TouchDesigner. Inside the TouchDesigner Network live the different types of visualizers, such as Audio-Reactive scenes, webcam-input scenes, and the quick-switchable keyboard input scenes. Which then can be projected using TouchDesigner's Kantan Projection Mapping.

Audience engagement was a key success indicator at SMC's 2025 Student Showcase. Throughout the showcase, the guests danced to the music and commented on the live visuals. It was as if the responsive nature of the visuals encouraged the audience to participate rather than passively view.
Beyond the showcase, WAV//FORM can continue to evolve for future artists, venues, and performances. In hopes of supporting more independent artists like Enraile.
